What Is the TOEFL Test? |
|

The Test of English as
a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of nonnative speakers
of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and
heard in college and university settings.
More than 6,000 colleges, universities, and licensing agencies in 110
countries accept TOEFL scores.
The TOEFL test is offered in different formats depending on a test
taker's location. |

Why Take the TOEFL Test? |

TOEFL test as a prerequisite for admission into colleges and

The Internet-based (TOEFL
iBT) Test |

The TOEFL
Internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) tests all four language skills that are
important for effective communication: speaking, listening, reading, and
writing. The test helps students demonstrate that they have the English
skills needed for success. TOEFL iBT also emphasizes integrated skills
and provides better information to institutions about students' ability
to communicate in an academic setting and their readiness for academic
coursework. |

The
Computer-based (TOEFL CBT) Test |
|
| |
The computer-based
TOEFL test (TOEFL CBT) measures English language proficiency in the
following areas:
Listening
Structure
Reading
Writing.
After September 30, 2006, TOEFL CBT will no longer be offered. The TOEFL
program is phasing in the Internet-based version of the TOEFL test -
TOEFL iBT. In areas where TOEFL iBT is not yet available, the
paper-based version of the TOEFL test will be offered to continue to
provide access for TOEFL test takers in these areas.
TOEFL CBT scores are valid for two years from the administration date.
During this period you can send your TOEFL CBT score report to the
institutions of your choice.

Module of IELTS ?

You can choose between
the Academic or General Training versions of the test. All candidates do
the same Listening and speaking sections
The test has four sections
Listening - 4 sections, 40 questions, 30 minutes
Speaking - interview, 15 minutes
Reading - different for Academic or General Training - 3 sections, 40
questions, 60 minutes
Writing - different for Academic or General Training - 2 pieces of
writing, 60 minutes

The Scholastic
Assessment Test (SAT) |

Nearly every college in
America accepts the SAT or Subject Tests as a part of its admissions
process. That's why more than two million students take the SAT every
year.
The College Board's SAT Program consists of the SAT Reasoning TestTM
(SAT) and SAT Subject TestsTM. The SAT is three hours and 45 minutes
long and measures skills in three areas: critical reading, math, and
writing. Although most questions are multiple choice, students are also
required to write a 25-minute essay.
The SAT Subject Tests are one-hour, mostly multiple-choice tests in
specific subjects. These tests measure knowledge of particular subjects
and the ability to apply that knowledge. Many colleges require or
recommend one or more of these tests for admission or placement
purposes. |

Module of SAT?

SAT test is basically
from three sections, math, critical reading and reading section. Math
section tests includes Basic arithmetic, Algebra I & II , Geomety.
Critical reading sections comprises of 67 multiple-choice questions,
sentence completion and reading comprehension question. This section is
70 minutes long. Writing sections consists of 49 questions which are 60
minutes long and comprises multiple choice questions and an essay.
